The small and light-pocket sharpening rod in a ballpoint pen format, set with industrial diamonds, combines a conical as well as a cylindrical side with a flattened contact surface and fishhook sharpening groove in the smallest of spaces. The conical side can be used for serrated edges and the cylindrical side for all straight edges of knives with steel blades. The unused side of the rod disappears into the aluminum handle and is secured with a cap nut. When not in use, the rod can be almost completely sunk into the handle and the sharpener can be attached to clothing with a spring steel clip.
